Welcome to Dave and Emily's Photo Album
This is a family that took lots of pictures. We have hundreds. These show a little more of the family and gives me an opportunity to tell more of the story.
Dave and Emily as they appeared in the 1920's. I don't know that they were taken at the same time, but they look about 30 years of age. [bind0137] [bind0138]

In the late '40's Dave bought a 32' cabin cruiser for
Lake Minnetonka. He was never what one would call an avid boater, and Emily didn't like it
at all. [bind0803] |

Dave loved to play with children. Here he is with his
grand daughters Sally and Judy. [bind0598] |

Geraldine about 1928. Dave always insisted his family
be well dressed. [bind0065] |

Emily and Dave only visited Ole and Margaret Hoiby once
at Crane Lake; in 1937. What makes this picture more unusual, from a family point of view,
is the presence of Lulu and Henry Hoiby (Ole's brother) at the same time. It must be the
day they are going home, because they are all decked out in city clothes. [bind0852] |

Dave and Willie working on an Onan engine in the back
yard of the house in Miami Beach. Dave enjoyed picking up projects in Florida and didn't
mind getting his hands dirty if necessary. Willie Schlageter was the house caretaker. His
wife, Marianna, was in charge of housekeeping at the Sans Souci hotel in Miami Beach. [bind0860] |

Dave was not just the "boss" to employees,
but truly a "grand old man". Here he is surrounded by 641 birthday cards
from employees in 1953. [bind0707] |

Dave and Lt. General Knutsen outside the office at
Royalston in Dec. 1942. He was never one to get too formally dressed at the office. This
was typical of how he met visitors. In this case, General Knutsen was his boss, as head of
the War Production Board in World War II. A trademark of Dave's was the pince-nez hanging
below his tie. He needed glasses for everything, but only used them for reading. Driving
with him was a thrill. [bind0100] |

generations separating them, Dave seemed to enjoy the youngest of the family. [bind863] |
