Philosophy
The Onan
Family Foundation is a private philanthropy
located in Minneapolis, Minnesota making grants in the near by community. The
information in this site includes history & philosophy, grant guidelines,
grants awarded, financial statement, and officers.
There were many ways that David W. Onan showed his
gratitude to the community in which he grew up and prospered. There were
churches, community organizations and a wide range of civic activities he
supported with the foundation. In addition to monetary support, he put a lot of
personal effort into them.
As the recipients of his legacy we also believe in
volunteerism and private support of the non profit community. Involved
individuals see needs best. We try to keep our support where our family is
involved, either personally or in the community. We want to carry on what our
founder started. We hope we are doing that in a way he would approve of.
